      Terrance M. Placzek

Tempico was founded by the late Terrance (Terry) M. Placzek to market the Rotoclave® process, which he invented, developed and eventually patented in 1992.

Terry was a native of Fremont, Nebraska and a mechanical engineering graduate of the University of Nebraska. He was a Board Certified Engineer of the State of Nebraska and a member of the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry. He also held memberships in the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the American Oil Chemists Society, and the Instrument Society of America. He worked for ten years with the Archer Daniels Midland Co. in a number of positions. Prior to the formation of Tempico, he provided process design and operations consulting to numerous clients, among which were A. Duda & Sons, Norfolk Shipbuilders, Inc. and Southern Research Institute.

Terry served as President, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Tempico, Inc. and its subsidiary companies until his passing away on May 9, 2003. His three patents related to waste processing and mixed waste paper recovery continue as the basis of the Rotoclave® process marketed by Tempico around the world.
